Our Team

KCLG is guided by a Committee of Management, composed of an Executive Team and representatives from each of its sub-groups.  There are two funded part-time staff positions, a Landcare Facilitator and a Project Officer.

Our Staff

Shannon Brennan

Shannon Brennan
Landcare Facilitator

Shannon has been working in the role of Landcare Facilitator with KCLG since 2021.  She has had a 20-year career working in the field of environmental management for state government organisations, both in QLD and the Far South Coast of NSW, and has now returned to North-East Victoria, where she grew up.  In this role, she is passionate about working with farmers to undertake more sustainable land management activities and improve the strength of Landcare in the region.

She also enjoys seizing opportunities for the community and landholders that can be achieved when working for a not-for-profit, volunteer-led organisation.  She works in a part-time role whilst also living with her family on her farm at Leneva.

Chontelle Bourne

Chontelle Bourne
Project Officer

Chontelle has been in the part-time role of Project Officer with KCLG since 2023. She has a double degree in natural resource management and environmental photography with a focus on cultural knowledge documentation and vegetation management.

Chontelle is passionate about environmental conservation, regenerative practices, education, and community, in particular, how sustainable farming systems and ecology are interconnected.

Chontelle moved to the North East 26 years ago, and it is the connection with the beautiful landscape in this region that has captivated and kept her here.

Chontelle currently lives on a small farm in Duduroa country in Osbornes Flat with her family.

Our Committee

Rowan Wallace

Rowan Wallace
President and Committee Member – Kergunyah

Rowan and her family have lived and farmed their properties at Kergunyah in the Kiewa Valley for six generations, and have a long history of implementing regenerative farming practices going back more than 50 years.

Rowan runs Hereford cattle on her portion of the original family property at Kergunyah and has taught in local schools for many years. She has a strong interest in sustainable farming, biodiversity and encouraging the community to care for the environment.

Currently serving as President of the Kiewa Catchment Landcare Groups, Rowan joined the Kergunyah Landcare Group in 1996 and has been part of the Network since its inception. Rowan’s long-standing knowledge of Landcare and the community in the region is a valuable asset to KCLG.

Peter Pressuti

Peter Presutti
Treasurer

Peter grew up on a property in Walla Walla. He worked for his Dad on the farm, mainly sheep and crops, and went into contract harvesting.  He moved to Albury in 1962, married Glenda never left.

Peter was introduced to Landcare in 2011 through bushwalking with Tony Marsh. Originally helping out with Baranduda Landcare and rehabilitation works on Middle Creek, Peter stepped into the role of Treasurer in 2017 and has continued to be a valuable Executive member ever since this time.

Sue Mahon

Sue Mahon
Secretary and Committee Member – Kergunyah

Sue has been the secretary of KCLG since 2020.  Sue has always loved the Kiewa Valley – as a passionate environmental manager, she has enjoyed watching the landscape slowly recover because of the innovative landscape regeneration and revegetation of our passionate landholders in the valley.

Her background is in horticulture, landscape restoration, and environmental sustainability and management all levels of government.  She achieved her dream of living in the Kiewa Valley in 2011, where she purchased Beautiful Ben Eagle Farm near Dederang, which she has significantly transformed into a thriving native ecosystem.

Jo Mitlehner

Joanne Mitlehner
Friends of Staghorn Wildlife Shelter

Jo was raised on a beef farm in Coral Bank up the Kiewa Valley.  Her father had large aviaries which started her love for birds.  Jo started Staghorn Wildlife Shelter in 2001 and has been operating since, located at Staghorn Flat nestled below Mt. Murramurranbong.

Jo specialises in Birds of Prey and all other birds, rescuing and rehabilitating over a 100 km radius and responding to around 700 callouts per year. In July 2025, Staghorn Wildlife Shelter became a Friends of Group within KCLG.

KCLG is extremely excited to have Jo on board and to support Staghorn Wildlife Shelter to continue their vital services assisting vulnerable wildlife.

Glen Johnson

Sara Tennison-Woods

Sara Tenison-Woods
Committee Member – Yackandandah Landcare

I became a Landcare representative because I care deeply about our environment and the incredible Australian animals that call it home. I want to see more of them thriving in their natural habitats, and that starts with taking care of the land they depend on.

Being part of Landcare has also taught me so much about better ways of farming — approaches that work with the environment rather than against it. I’ve learned how we can produce food and care for our land, and at the same time protect soil, water, and biodiversity for future generations.

The biggest bonus, though, has been the community I’ve met along the way. I’ve connected with passionate, like-minded people who share the same vision for a healthier, more sustainable future. Together, we’re not just improving the land — we’re building stronger connections between people, wildlife, and country.

Beth Howard

Beth Howard

Originally from Upper Lurg, and after 20 years in North Melbourne for university and work, my husband and I shifted back to North-East Victoria so that our two kids could experience a country upbringing.

I first met Rowan and KCLG through the Dederang Primary School, participating in tree planting days with the students. With the kids now at University, I have had time to attend various Landcare sessions and thoroughly enjoyed the events, knowledge gained and friendships made (plus the morning teas!). I have always enjoyed the friendships made through various volunteering roles and giving back to local communities.

As a representative for Three Flats Landcare Group, I look forward to the continual learning, new friendships, and being able to support our community in restoring and protecting the environment through sustainable land management.

Tony Marsh

Tony Marsh
Committee Member – Baranduda Landcare

I have been part of Baranduda Landcare as a Committee representative for 15 years.  I am passionate about landscape conservation and rehabilitation, threatened species, and biodiversity.  I am also interested in the multitude of new technology options that can be leveraged to improve outcomes.   I am proud to have been part of Baranduda Landcare, alongside Glen Johnson, achieving extensive rehabilitation works along Middle Creek and coordinating many Planet Ark tree planting events.

I also volunteered for many years as the Admin Officer for KCLG, supporting and developing the KCLG website and membership system, the administration and governance systems, and providing technical support to volunteers and staff, before retiring from this position in 2024.

Andrea Palmer
Committee Member – Kiewa-Tangambalanga-Bonegilla Landcare

Andrea is the representative for Kiewa-Tangambalanga-Bonegilla Landcare Group and has been in the role since early 2025. She lives in the beautiful Kiewa Valley on a cattle farm.

She is a former tree nursery owner, a passionate gardener, and a farmer. Our land is the foundation of the world’s health and well-being, so the motivation to look after it comes naturally.
